[ESPN] Oregon coach Chip Kelly has decided to turn down a chance to go to the NFL and instead will return to the Ducks, according to league sources.
Kelly was intrigued with the Philadelphia Eagles‘ head coaching job but decided he wasn’t comfortable leaving the college game.
I know we didn’t want O’Brien to leave Penn State obviously, but now let’s look at it from an Eagles fan perspective.
First, you have O’Brien interview with the Eagles, and he chose to remain at Penn State. Then, you have Chip Kelly extensively interview with the Eagles, and he stays at Oregon. Now, in both cases O’Brien and Kelly got some financial love, if you will, from Terry Pegula and Phil Knight respectively, but this has to say at least something about the attractiveness of the Eagles head coaching job. Starting to get worried everyone is realizing how awful the Eagles are right now.
