Chiefs GM Fired, Looks Like Reid Will Be Hired Today

[PhillyFormer Eagles coach Andy Reid is expected to be announced Friday as the new coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, 4 days after the end of Reid’s 14-year Eagles tenure. A source involved in the negotiations said Reid had canceled planned trips to Arizona and San Diego and was working out the details of an agreement with the Chiefs. It is believed Reid will have similar power to what he had in Philadelphia, where he was director of football operations.

Update from @: Cards visit with Andy Reid is off, Chiefs have not scheduled other visits with candidates, hoping to wrap deal Fri.

Tid bit of info: I heard today on WIP that the Eagles only averaged one more win over the 14 years with Andy Reid, than the 14 years before Andy Reid.

I can’t see Reid succeeding in Kansas City. Maybe a trip to the playoffs, maybe, but nothing significant. I just can’t see it.

Ps. I feel bad for Jamaal Charles

Pps. I hate how Schefty tweets updates from his butt-buddy, Mort. “Update via @mortreport”. Like dude, let him tweet it himself. He’s a big boy.

UPDATE: 11:05am: Reid and Chiefs Reached agreement (butt-buddies):

From @ and me: Andy Reid has reached agreement to become next HC of Chiefs, pending review of contract by each side's attorneys.
