[CSNPhilly] Halil Kanacevic made this obscene gesture in the direction of the Villanova student section Tuesday night, before missing two critical free throws in the final minute of Saint Joseph’s 65-61 loss to the Wildcats.
[CSNPhilly] Kanacevic’s night went from bad to worse after he let out his frustration by making an obscene gesture toward the Villanova student section while heading into a timeout. None of the officials saw the incident and said they could not review it since there was no physical contact on the play.
While the refs missed the act, those in the stands got a clear view. The ‘Nova supporters received a jolt from the gesture and and proceeded to shower boos down on Kanacevic for the rest of the game.
“One of the things that we will mention to them is that on the road you play to silence,” Martelli said. “That’s all you want. It certainly wasn’t a raucous atmosphere up until that point, but I’ll look at it and see. I don’t think it made us play faster or out of character. We just made some out-of-character plays and plays that were home runs instead of singles.”
The bird is the word!
Ps. How did the refs not see this?
