Reaction To The Tweets From BC’s Women’s Soccer Player

As I’m sure most of you are aware at this point (largely due to the article by our buddies at Onward State), a member of the Boston College women’s soccer team (in town for a game against our Nittany Lions tomorrow) took to Twitter earlier today to talk  about her “experience” in State College so far.  And by “experience”, I mean that she basically went on a tasteless rant making a mockery of the Jerry Sandusky crimes.

Being a part of TSP, the voice of the people, I felt it necessary to issue a response.  So, in response:

1. How dumb do you have to be to actually tweet something like that?  With a public account?  If you and your soccer team want to be little scumbags and make jokes, go for it.  Do it in private though.  100% chance this girl thought she was on top of the world while posting this stuff on Twitter.  ”Look how funny everyone thinks I am! Even the football safety laughed and thinks I’m hilarious! I’m the shit!“ No you’re not.  You’re a douche.
2. If you’re going to make tasteless jokes, at least make them factually accurate and funny.  Her jokes were neither.
3. I think I speak for everyone on the TSP team in saying….

PS – Hey PSU Women’s Soccer Team – go beat them by 40 tomorrow

UPDATE (9:54 PM): She got suspended from the team, and will be out for at least the PSU game. I think I speak for everyone again when I say “good riddance”.  Again, this is what happens when you are publicly an idiot in 2012.  If you learn nothing else from TSP, learn not to do that.

For her tweets about Penn State, Stephanie McCaffrey has been suspended from the women's soccer team and will not play tmrw night for #BC.

ANOTHER UPDATE (9:57 PM): So out of curiosity, I figured that I’d look up this girl’s stats on the BC Athletics page, just to see what kind of person we’re dealing with here.  I actually kinda feel like a journalist right now and I think I hate it.

Here are her 2012 stats: 18 Games played (tied for team lead), 9 goals (2nd), 6 assists (2nd), 24 points (2nd) , and a bunch of other soccer stats which I have no idea what they mean, but I’m assuming they’re good because she’s second on the team in points.  Again, good riddance.

Go beat the shit out of these girls tomorrow, Lady Lions.
