Nittanyville President Troy Weller confirmed to the crowd outside of Beaver Stadium that the 140 tents, and 1,184 student campers was a new high for the famous tent city. The previous record was smashed by 29 tents, the camp out prior to he 2007 showdown between Penn State and Notre Dame will now be second on the all-time list.
“I expected a good turnout,” Weller said. “But I didn’t expect anything like this.”
