[OnwardState] She [Mary Krupa] is a freshman this year, from State College, who is best known for playing with squirrels, while also donning them with tiny-squirrel sized hats. Mary has a love for all animals, however she favors squirrels above all other campus wildlife because they are the friendliest (when they’re hungry).
“It’s kind of a give and take. They’re not going to play with me unless I have food to give them,” said Krupa.
Who knew squirrels drove such a hard bargain?
Mary has always been an animal lover and actually has a parakeet of her own, Smudge. This is not her first bird however, but sadly, Chirpy passed away two years ago. (Feel free to pour one out for the fallen homie this weekend).
Both of her pets have been birds because, as she explained to me, “Birds are kind of my favorite, followed by anything that’s cute and fuzzy.” Who can argue with that!

Shocking—she is from State College.
There is nothing scarier at Penn State than squirrels, seriously. No sarcasm in that statement at all. There is basically no crime at Penn State. You can walk around at 4am, in the heart of downtown, alone, and be happy as can be. Girls walk around drunk and sloppy, four times a week, at all hours of the night, and it’s all fine and dandy at Penn State.
Truthfully, the only time I have ever been frightened walking around PSU is bright daylight when a squirrel crosses my path. Those PSU squirrels are terrifying. They’r wayyyy too friendly for my liking. They lure you in—approaching all gingerly, with big smiles on their squirrel faces, all innocent and shit. And you’re just walking, “oh hi squirrel”, walking, walking, walking, DEAD.
No clue what this girl is thinking though. I actually feel bad for her. This story is like sad and scary at the same time. Someone get her in their THON committee.
Ps. What if she started like a “playing with squirrels” student group at PSU?

Every once in awhile you guys come off like fratty douchebags. We’re not in highschool anymore you don’t have to make fun of a girl just because she’s a little different.
poorly written
Mean-spirited and offensive.
I don’t get why she does that either. It’s just gonna take her one time to get bit then probably sue Penn State or something. Plus she’s ruining it for everybody because now the squirrels are going to be even more friendly and go after everybody for food.
Who ever wrote this is a clown…you write for theschoolphilly like you couldn’t get a real job? Who the fuck are you to make fun of a freshman girl grow the fuck up.
Aaaalright Onward State, obviously someone didn’t get a bid. Why don’t you write about something a little more interesting than the University’s resident squirrel fashion queen
Are you serious. That’s fucking weird. “Mean spirited” my balls. If you can’t take a joke then fuck you.
I take offense that people are taking offense. This girl is obviously nuts. You could probably find her at the HUB doing weird shit on a Saturday Night when we’re playing Ohio State. If she’s playing with squirrels and answering websites’ questions in the public, I don’t even want to know what the fuck she does in “private”.
Onward state should do a followup article if they are so fuckin interested in this nutbag on that!
not funny at all, damn yall suck
Yes TSP may have been a little harsh, but if you weren’t ready for that upon arriving on this website, you’ve obviously never been here. What I don’t get is why Onward State has the nerve to criticize all the other media outlets in State College yet this is the type of “news” they write about… Can you say desperate?
Just so y’all know, an earlier version of this article implied that, because crime is so low in State College, not only are squirrels scary, but that girls who walk around at 4 am are attacked, deservedly.
“Girls walk around drunk and half-naked, four nights/mornings a week, and you hear about like two incidents a year. Like the girls are begging for it, basically daring the State College “criminals” to try something.”

Actually, we did comment on why we removed it.
Can you explain why it was removed?
