Once again, your week 3 picks are brought to you by the always gorgeous Kate Upton. Kate wants to pay us more for the sponsorship, but we can’t accept any more money because of how bad we are at picking games.
Other than Scott, we shat the bed last week again. This shit ain’t easy man! We need some motivation! Hit it…
AirPort’s Picks (@And_Porter)
(1-2-1) last week doesn’t make me happy. (1-6-1) and last place in the standings doesn’t make me happy either. But you can bet your ass I’m gonna get out of the cellar sooner than later. No chance I finish last place in these stupid, meaningless NFL picks. Hell no. Ps. I actually won last week with a sneaky little tease I did on Sun/Mon night, not that you care, but just saying.
San Fran at Minnesota +7.5
7.5 points at home in the NFL is gold. Minnesota always plays a lot of close games too. Gimme the points.
Buffalo -3 at Cleveland
I love betting against Cleveland. Trap game, schmap game. Give me Buffalo -3 all day. CJ Spiller has a day against that awful Cleveland run defense.
Detroit -4 at Tennessee
Tennessee stinks. Chris Johnson stinks. Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson have a field day against a weak Titans defense. Lions win, 31-17.
Lock of the Week
Green Bay -3.5 at Seattle
We haven’t seen Green Bay’s best game yet, and they know that, and I think it’s bothering them. They come out and clobber the seahawks by two TD’s
*Ps I also like the Steelers -4.5 at Oakland and although I am not pro-betting your hometown team, I do like the Birds -3.5.
Scott’s (formerly known as Wayne Kretzky which was dumb) Picks (@Skret16)
That’s gotta be the worst head-shot of all-time, right?
Colts -3 vs Jags
Good week for me last week, going 3-1. Kinda pissed at myself for falling for the sucker pick, oakland, instead of a sharp pick like miami or st louis. But whatever, on to week 3. Im takin the colts here again. If you’ve been reading my picks throughout the year, you know that I think the Colts will be a fringe playoff team. If they were to be this, they’d obviously have to beat Jacksonville at home.
Bucs +8 vs Cowboys
This one is kind of tough for me because the cowboys are a team that generally plays good after losses and bad after wins (sound familiar?). Having said that, I just think this line is too high. The buccaneers are very underrated. Expectations were, understandably, low after their shart of a 2011 season but remember that they were very good in 2010 and are arguably are more talented than that team this year. Take the points.
Vikings +7.5 vs San Fran
I know this pick looks ugly but in the words of Mike Missaneli, this line is telling me something. Everyone and there bubbi will be picking the niners this weekend, which usually means gambling disaster. Plus, the Vikings are sneaky competitive. If this was in San Fran, I wouldn’t do it, but at home Ill take the points.
Lock of the Week
NE +3 vs Ravens
Kind of a gut play here but I really like the Pats here coming off that embarrassing loss to the Cardinals. I know the offense seriously lacked explosiveness in their opening two games but I just don’t think that’s going to be the case all year. They’re too smart and too talented. I think they get back on track here against a surprisingly overrated Ravens D. Pats win big.
Ahlby’s Picks (@Mahlbs10)
Steelers -4.5 vs Raiders
The Steelers are coming off a good win against the New York Jets. I look for that momentum to carry over and beat a struggling Raiders team. The Steelers will cover the -4.5 point line.
Chiefs vs Saints -9
The Saints have to win at some point, right? This is my third week in a row taking them, third times a charm. They will be back at home in an environment that is always tough to play in. Look for them to get their first win and cover the -9 point line.
Bengals vs Redskins -3
RGIII debut at home. Enough said. Skins cover the -3 point line
Lock of the Week
Patriots +3 vs Ravens
Patriots are coming off a terrible loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals!? Tom Brady and Bill Belichick don’t lose two games in a row often, take the +3 points in a hard fought game.
Herbstreet’s Picks (@RyanHerber)
Detroit -4 vs. Tennessee
The Titans don’t just look bad. They look very bad. Chris Johnson has 21 rushing yards this year on 21 attempts. I don’t see that rushing game coming together against a decent Detroit defense.
Cincinnati +3 vs. Washington
I’m going on a hunch here with this pick. I still haven’t jumped on the RGIII bandwagon. The Redskins come in with a struggling pass defense. Andy Dalton will have a field day in the air against that D.
St. Louis +9 vs. Chicago
Chicago is a mess right now. Cutler was getting into it with his line last week. Honestly, if I was their O-Line I would pull the move they did in The Longest Yard. Don’t block anyone and let that douche bag get drilled. But anyway, Forte’s out and I’ll take the points.
Lock of the Week:
Philadelphia -4 vs. Arizona
This will be my first time picking the Birds this year. It’s unbelievable they are 2-0 with all the turnovers they’ve had. I think they will control the turnovers and put a lot of points on the board early. The Cardinals offense has really struggled this season both with the run and pass. The Eagles defense will hold them to little points and the Birds win by double digits.
(Silent) Squeak’s Picks (@Tepel03_TSP)
Detroit -4 at Tennessee
Philly -3.5 at Arizona
#BIRDSBOWL13
St. Louis +9 at Chicago
Lock of the Week:
New England +3 at Baltimore
Bronny’s Picks (@Jawn_Brostein)
Shout out to Lindsay Horne
Kansas City +9 at New Orleans
Another shocking line. Why are the Saints still such a favorite? I understand that they’re great at home in the past, but wasn’t that proven wrong against the Redskins (who lost toSt. Louisin week 2) in week 1? KC isn’t as bad as people think. The Saints aren’t as good as people think.
Philly at Arizona (-3.5)
I hate doing this. Eagles play like ass EVERY TIME they go west. Every time. I hope it doesn’t happen… but I really think it will.
Jacksonville at Indy (-3)
Indy looked good at home. Luck knows how to play in the dome apparently.
Lock of the Week
New York Jets -3 at Miami
This line weirds me out. Miami’s win last week was an aberration against anOakland team that had to travel cross-country for a 1 o’clock game. They still suck. Jets easy here.
