[ESPN] WASHINGTON, D.C. — A four-team playoff for college football has been formally approved by a presidential oversight committee, a dramatic change for the sport that will begin in 2014. The four teams will be chosen by a selection committee, the semifinals will be held at current bowl sites and the national championship game will be awarded to the highest bidder.
The 12-year deal is through the 2025 season.

Not going to say I told you so, but the loyal followers of our TSP tryout sample site (s/o to all 3 of you) will know that I literally laid this exact plan step-by-step back in March (or whenever this crazy TSP adventure started – I can’t even remember… it’s been that wild). But is this even praise-worthy for the NCAA here? Personally, I feel like enacting solutions about 8 years after they should have been doesn’t deserve a pat on the back.
That said, HOW FUCKING AWESOME IS A COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF GOING TO BE?! Long time coming. Go Lions.
