Look. Let’s be real. The best team in the Junior Jewish Basketball League could have beat the Bulls without Noah and Rose. After the Sixers beat the Bulls, the city noticed, but didn’t really care. No one actually expected the Sixers to make any noise in the playoffs, and no way in the hell can they actually win anything.
But then, they went to Boston to face the Celtics in the semi-finals. And could have (arguably should have) won game 1, and did win game 2. Now the city is like hey. Maybe they can win another series? This could actually be fun, if they continue to win.
As fans, we’re playing with house money. There’s nothing to lose. There is no let down with the Sixers, like there was and would be (and should be) with the Phillies, Eagles, and Flyers. There is ZERO hurt or despair in rooting for the SIxers. So all you pessimistic Philly sports fans, “that can’t take the heartbreak” anymore, this is your chance! The Sixers allow you to root for a team for fun, with no heartbreak. The perfect opportunity. We don’t expect the Sixers to win the NBA championship, we’re just along for the ride.
Now a loss tomorrow curbs all enthusiasm. But, If the Sixers find a way to win tomorrow, the line for the ride extends. It adds more seats. The ride becomes FREE for the entire city, and we all know, everyone loves free shit (seriously, if someone was giving out free bags of poop people would line up for the bag).
The city is ready to jump on the ride, and I think a win tomorrow night from the Sixers, will ensure a much more crowded, lively, and fun ride. So jump on Philadelphia, what else are you gonna do?

sixers fans, what a joke
