First person that came to mind when I thought who should speak at Joe Pa’s memorial, was Daryll Clark. DC is truly one of the nicest guys I’ve met. Ask any of his teammates and they will tell you he was a true class act, phenomenal leader, and a great man. He was the epitome of Joe Paterno. Daryll was also the last player Joe was really, really close with, which was evident in the media. Not to mention, DC is a great speaker. Very humble guy, that we knew had a lot to say about Joe.
Michael Robinson, however, represented the 2000s era of Penn State football players, as only one player per decade was chosen to speak. While Robinson spoke great, I still wanted to hear from DC. Two players from that decade wouldn’t have hurt?
DC is the player that resonates the most with the current Penn State senior class, whom will never forget that 2008 trip to the Rose Bowl. Again, not saying Robinson shouldn’t have spoken, but I wish they could have squeezed in two players from the decade of 2000-2010, because Daryll Clark deserved a chance to speak.
