I played college ball in the early ’60s. Never played against Penn State but have been familiar with Joe Paterno most of my adult life. No one, including my home state’s beloved Bear Bryant, did more for the game of football or the institution they worked for than JoePa. It is absolutely beyond reason the way Penn State treated him at the end. Shame on you!!!!

I have been a JOPA fan as long as I can remeber so when I started coaching I naturaly tried to give the same dedication, integrity and the love that Joe gave to all of his players. To see them going on to succeed in academics and sports and to have them still remeber what I have gave them is a direct result of having a man like JOPA to follow. Rest in Gods arms Joe you deserve it!

Joe kicked WVU’s butt up and down the field for 40+ years and those butts couldn’t have been kicked by a nicer guy. RIP Joe…I hope that a tribute public hanging of Sandusky is in the works.

There will never be another like Joe Paterno. That was one good man.
God bless JoePa.

Was a “water boy” for coach Paterno in 1966 and ’67. I remember him saying: “Take care of the small things and the big things will fall into place.” He was telling the players that if they hustled and did the small things correctly they could become a pretty good football team. This same advice helped me survive many carrier night landings with the Navy. Thanks coach.
