Here is what senior club lacrosse teammate and friend, Christina Fiorentino, wrote about the tragedy and her friend, Gabriella Sicard.
The Penn State Women’s Club Lacrosse team lost a teammate in a tragic car accident on Tuesday evening. Freshman, Gabriella Sicard, was a beautiful, loving, and kind human being.
She was a huge part of our team even though she was only part of it for one semester. Her loss has brought our entire team to complete shock and sorrow. This reaction comes to show how great of a person she was to affect so many people in such a short amount of time. Our team is more than just a group of girls who play lacrosse. We are a family. And this week, we lost someone who was a part of that.
Gaby will always be in our hearts and a part of this team even though she is no longer with us. Tragedy can come at any point in time and there is never a reason why it happens to the most loving people like Gaby. Cherish life and tell the ones you are close to that you love them. Every time I saw Gaby she had a big smile on her face, and that is the way I will always remember her.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Gaby’s family and friends. May she forever rest in peace and may she always be our loving teammate.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Gaby’s family and friends as well. Awful situation, hoping that we can help in any way possible. #WeAre #FlyHighGaby
